Bridges & Dentures

When you have missing teeth, it’s more than just an incomplete smile. A full set of teeth can improve your overall heath, and gives you greater confidence. Whether you’re missing one or more teeth, or even need a completely new set, there’s a range of options available, and we can help you choose what’s best for you. Bridges normally fill gaps between healthy teeth, or anchors can be used when remaining teeth aren’t strong enough. Dentures can cover larger areas, and can be temporarily removed for cleaning.

Sedation Options

Remember the “good old days”, when kids walked miles to go to one-room schools, the only way to talk with someone far away was a hand-written letter, and going to the dentist was a painful and difficult experience? Today’s patients enjoy a relaxing, stress and pain free visit every time, thanks to modern practices. We keep you comfortable at every appointment, with a range of sedation options guaranteed to soothe even the most anxious patient. No matter how tense you used to get before going for a dental checkup, you’ll discover a peaceful experience awaits you.

Gummy Smile

Next time you look at a beautiful painting, take a moment to examine at the frame. Chances are, a lot of time and consideration were put into choosing just the right frame to enhance the appearance of the painting itself, and the wrong frame can make a great picture less appealing. The same is true with your smile. We don’t normally think about it, but the shape of your gums plays a large part in the quality of your smile. Having a “gummy” smile takes away from the look of your teeth, making them appear shorter and uneven.

Teeth Whitening

The foods we eat can discolour our teeth over time, leaving them dingy and yellowed. Sometimes illness or disease can leave your teeth less white than you would prefer. Even a normal lifetime of wear can darken your smile, but we can bring a dramatic improvement in as little as one visit. Our teeth whitening system, Zoom!,  is a proven, effective, and simple way to restore the natural colour of your teeth, and give you back the look you always wanted. Resin Veneers

Are veneers a cosmetic change or a functional improvement? For many patients, they’re a bit of both. Dental veneers are a thin layer of ceramic or resin bonded directly to your teeth. They’re a great, and permanent, way to give you a perfect white smile, covering over worn, cracked, or chipped teeth. They also strengthen weak teeth and can correct minor gaps and provide you with a uniform set of teeth in just two or three visits. In addition to porcelain veneers we offer direct resin veneers for some patients where appropriate.

Cosmetic Options

Having a great smile is more than just healthy teeth and gums. It also gives you a greater sense of confidence and happiness. Being able to smile without worrying about chipped, misaligned, or discoloured teeth gives you a better outlook, an improved perspective, and an improved self-assurance. Cosmetic dentistry isn’t simply about looks, it’s about how it makes you feel, so if you’d like to know what we can do to improve the appearance of your teeth, just ask. We’ll work with you to find the option that works best.

Crowns & Overlays

Chipped, damaged, or decayed teeth don’t always need to be fully replaced. If the whole tooth isn’t lost, it may be possible to cover it with a crown that looks and functions just like a regular tooth. Custom-made from an impression done of the tooth after it’s been prepared, each crown is unique and designed for you. All of our crowns are made of porcelain.  We can provide advice to help you in your decision, so when you want to restore your smile to its very best, we’ll have the answers for you.

Replacing Missing Teeth

Have you been holding off replacing missing teeth? There is an alternative to dentures, partials, and bridges that could work for you. Dental implants use a titanium insert into the jawbone as an anchor for the replacement, the same as the root of a tooth does. Some patients may require a bone graft, but as long as you’re in general good health it’s an excellent option for you. They provide a permanent fix for your smile, and they look and feel just like your own teeth.

Wisdom Teeth

By their late teens or early twenties, most people get their third set of molars, commonly called wisdom teeth. When they are properly aligned and healthy, they come in as any other tooth would.  More often, however, they’re misaligned and that can cause major problems. They can crowd adjacent teeth, affect your jawbone or nerves, even grow under your other teeth. This can cause bone loss, weakening your jaw if not removed promptly. Even partial eruption gives bacteria an opening in the gums to collect and potentially cause tooth decay or gum disease.
